Welsh Baccalaureate
Cambrian Training is one of the few work base learning providers to be approved to deliver the Welsh Baccalaureate from September 2008.
In addition to the work based National vocational qualification (NVQ) ,learners will be required to complete a core programme of personal development which includes:-
- KEY SKILLS - The essential skills of Communication, application of number and ICT, and the employability skills of working with others, problem solving and improving own learning and performance.
- TEAM ENTERPRISE - Where they experience what it is like to run a business.
- COMMUNITY WORK - Spending time helping the community.
- AN INDIVIDUAL INVESTIGATION - A research project of their choice
- WALES, EUROPE AND THE WORLD - Examining issues which effect Wales in relation to its global position
- PERSONAL SKILLS - Such as planning and time management
The Welsh Baccalaureate is available to learners of any age as long as they are employed for 16+ hours per week, and they work within Hospitality, food and drink manufacturing and customer service.
