Vacancy Description

Lab Technician
Science, Maths and Statistics
Reporting directly to the Lead Chemist, your main responsibilities are: to provide technical services to customers in order to maximise the efficient use of our products.
This will include site visits, sample collection,sample testing, analysis of sample results, discovering solutions for the successful maintenance and
improvements to process, based on data, experience, know-how and logic.
Communicating the results of that analysis and guidance effectively to both customers and colleagues is an important part of the role.

You will be working primarily in the laboratory, under the supervision of the lead chemist with involvement from the MD, plus there will be a considerable amount of time travelling out to customer sites.

Integrating New Customers including establishing new lines, training and ongoing sample analysis.
Explaining, conducting and training on solution sample analysis.
Monitoring and supervision of the customers and their tanks.
Trouble shooting and reporting of the results.
Form successful working relationships with a small team
from the other departments.
Providing feedback on samples coupled with reasoned guidance to customers for their evaluation.
You will mostly be working to set methods, although at times creative thought and deduction will be required.
Problem solving will require your own thought.
Occasionally sourcing and handling materials from bulk
stocks and raw materials.
At all times, you will be working in compliance to various sets of regulations and strict on site health and safety rules.
Some procurement of chemicals, packaging, equipment and laboratory consumables.

Full on the job training will be provided by the company, leading to a sustainable job for the right candidate.

Desirable personal qualities

A degree in chemistry is not essential but may prove beneficial.

Experience of a busy working environment beneficial.
Good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and comfortable with MS Office.
A driving license and own vehicle will be essential to allow travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
An understanding and commitment to good health and safety practices.

Qualification(s) Required

1 Diploma at Pass or equivalent
