Apprentice Human Resources Assistant
CAT, Llyngwern Quarry, Pantperthog, Machynlleth, SY20 9AZ

The work will largely be on site at CAT at least in the first few months partly because of the nature our systems and partly because of the need for on the job training by existing members of staff.

Welsh speaking would be a benefit but not essential and all business is currently conducted in English.

No unspent convictions – details of any previous convictions is required.

Daily Duties:

  • Assist the HR Manager with normal HR processes (including recruitment, starters, leavers, absences, training etc)
  • Advise staff on general HR issues i.e. absence (leave), sickness,
  • Assist with administration of volunteers as necessary
  • Assist with administration including filing & copying
  • Collation of information and maintenance of HR records on database, spreadsheets and manual files
  • Possibly some wider admin outside HR team including assisting FD on an adhoc basis

  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Good level or literacy and numeracy.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work as part of a small team.
  • Able to work on own initiative and unsupervised
  • Keen to learn and develop skills.
  • Good general level of IT skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Aware of the need for confidentiality around HR/sensitive personal matters and other information and data.
  • Ability to respect a diverse range of people
  • Ability to work flexibly on and off site as required
  • Some understanding of the importance of sustainability and environmental issues, in line with CAT’s values and activities, would help.

Qualifications Required:

English & Maths GCSE at grade 5 or above desirable.

Welsh Written Skills: No

Apprenticeship Rates, Pay to increase to main minimum wage rate after 6 months subject to satisfactory progress in the role.

31-40 hours per week
