Marketing Assistant
Marketing and Advertising

To work with the Director and key staff to lead on all aspects of the organisation’s marketing and PR activity, which includes promoting the Gallery, it’s exhibition, education and outreach programmes as well as raising the profile of the Shop.
The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post.

The PR/Marketing Visitor Experience Assistant will work closely with the Visitor Experience Manager, the Director and the team at Oriel Davies and is responsible for front of house liaison with the visiting public, including dealing with sales, stewarding the exhibitions.

To be the point of contact for the visiting public, including answering the telephone, answering visitor enquiries, dealing with sales of art works and shop stock, to include using the cash register.

To gather visitor data for the building by visitor questionnaire completion, gathering comments and developing ways to measure audience within the gallery, off site and online.

To ensure accurate and timely communication of information is shared with the Visitor Experience Manager, adhering to the systems and methods set up for this purpose.

To maintain the gallery’s till sheets, check cash and record the daily income and expenditure, accurately record attendance figures.

To support the Visitor Experience team to identify how we engage specific audiences with retail projects and the gallery.

Marketing and Press To co-ordinate the research, development and delivery of marketing, press and publicity materials for the organisation and ensure that campaigns are delivered on time and to agreed budgets.

To work with key staff to co-devise and co-implement tailored marketing campaigns for specific exhibitions and events.

To work with the Director, Administrator and Visual Experience Manager to devise and implement marketing activity to increase revenue streams and footfall.

Desirable personal qualities

An interest and enthusiasm for the visual arts
Understanding of developing creative online content for a range of social media platforms.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional eye for detail and methodical approach to work.
Interest in designing and producing print material (in- house posters and flyers).
A strong administrator with good IT and computer knowledge.
Organised and has good project management understanding.
Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative, with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
Excellent team working.
Good knowledge of Quark and Photoshop.
