Evans Ltd in Overton<\/a> &amp; Craig Holly from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Chrishaymanbutchers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Hayman Butchers in Maesycwmmer<\/a> from creating their very own Halloween themed sausages!<\/p>\n<p>As part of their apprenticeship, they\u2019ve worked together with their team mates to come up with an original themed banger, tying two of the biggest Halloween flavours together from gingerbread men &amp; pumpkins.<\/p>\n<p>Ben &amp; Craig have completed Foundation Apprenticeship Level 2 &amp; Apprenticeship Level 3 in Meat &amp; Poultry Industry Skills &amp; Food Management and progressed onto a Higher Apprenticeship Level 4 in Food Manufacturing Excellence. Evans Ltd in Overton<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Spiced Pumpkin &amp; Gingerbread Sausage Recipe<\/h3>\n<p>To create a 5lb sausage mixture of Spiced Pumpkin &amp; Gingerbread sausage you will need:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1.5kg Fresh Welsh Pork Mince (shoulder pork preferably)<\/li>\n<li>0.275kg M. E. Evans Secret Sausage Blend or 40g Royal Welsh sausage seasoning<\/li>\n<li>10g (2 teaspoons) Ground Cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>10g (2 teaspoons) Ground Ginger<\/li>\n<li>5g (1 teaspoon) Mixed Spice<\/li>\n<li>20g Finely Diced Apple Pieces<\/li>\n<li>300g Finely Diced Pumpkin<\/li>\n<li>30g Golden Syrup<\/li>\n<li>180g Rusk<\/li>\n<li>450ml Cold Water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine all the spices and secret sausage blend in a bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Place the fresh pork mince in a separate mixing bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add the spice blend to the pork and mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Add the diced apple and pumpkin pieces and mix.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the syrup and slowly introduce the water, mixing until all absorbed.<\/li>\n<li>At this point you can either fill out into sausage skins, or if available mince the mixture through an 8mm plate to combine the flavours further.<\/li>\n<li>Link the filled sausage skins to the desired length. Alternatively, twirl the sausage into a spiral and skewer through with a bamboo skewer, creating a candy cane shaped sausage lolly.<\/li>\n<li>Rest in a fridge for a minimum of 6 hours to allow the flavours to fully develop before cooking<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Top tip;<\/strong> don\u2019t forget you could make a lovely warming soup (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambriantraining.com\/wp\/en\/8984\/roast-butternut-squash-soup-with-toasted-seeds-by-chris-price\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Link to recipe<\/a>) with the rest of your pumpkin and still carve them up for scary decorations for the family to enjoy at home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recipe by Apprentice Butchers;<\/strong> Ben Roberts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/meevansltd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">M.E.
