From Graduate to Trusted Client Manager Through an Apprenticeship

Since joining KC Accountancy Services in October 2023, Daisy Lloyd-Evans has developed into a trusted Client Manager whose technical ability, professionalism and commitment have made a significant impact on both the business and its clients. By combining academic achievement with practical workplace learning, she has demonstrated how an apprenticeship can accelerate both career progression and personal development.

The Challenge

Daisy began her career while completing a First-Class Honours degree in Business and Finance, balancing university with the demands of working in a busy accountancy practice. Following graduation, she immediately progressed through AAT apprenticeship Levels 2 and 3, successfully managing professional responsibilities alongside further study.

Adapting to a fast-paced practice required her to quickly build technical knowledge, confidence and the ability to work directly with clients, all while maintaining high standards across her growing workload.

Developing Technical Skills

The apprenticeships enabled Daisy to apply new knowledge immediately to live client work, strengthening bookkeeping processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.

As her confidence and expertise grew, so did her responsibilities. She now manages a portfolio of clients, overseeing bookkeeping, VAT returns and day-to-day enquiries independently while maintaining the accuracy and attention to detail expected within the practice.

Overcoming Challenges

Moving from back-office bookkeeping into a client-facing role was one of Daisy’s biggest challenges. She built confidence by preparing thoroughly for meetings, practising how to explain financial information clearly and actively seeking feedback after client interactions.

She also mastered multiple accounting systems and practice management software, creating practical guides and checklists that are now shared across the team. Her willingness to research unfamiliar issues and find solutions has become one of her greatest strengths.

Making an Impact

Daisy’s contribution extends beyond completing daily accounting tasks. She regularly identifies opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes, helping deliver more accurate financial information for clients while improving efficiency within the practice.

She has also helped standardise the onboarding of new bookkeeping clients by developing templates and checklists that create greater consistency across the business.

Clients frequently praise Daisy for her approachable manner and ability to explain financial information in plain English, strengthening relationships and reinforcing the firm’s reputation for excellent service.

Professional Growth

In a relatively short time, Daisy has progressed from a new starter to a trusted Client Manager responsible for key client accounts. Alongside completing her degree and AAT qualifications, she has developed into a confident, commercially aware professional who combines technical expertise with outstanding client care.

Her employer describes her as someone who takes ownership of her work, continually looks for improvements and delivers consistently high standards, making her an invaluable member of the team.
