The streets of Aberystwyth were alive with the roar of engines, the cheers of spectators, and the unmistakable energy of community pride. Rali Ceredigion 2025 didn’t just bring world-class motorsport to mid Wales – it showcased the power of local partnerships, with Cambrian Training Group and Get Jerky continuing as key sponsors of the event’s standout Aberystwyth Street stage.
As over 100 rally crews from across Europe tackled 12 stages and nearly 700 kilometres of challenging terrain, Cambrian Training Group and Get Jerky sponsored the anchor of the rally’s most accessible and engaging feature: a seafront spectacle that blended speed, sustainability, and celebration. The street stage ran beneath the castle grounds and along the marina, drawing thousands of fans to the promenade for a weekend of high-octane action and local flavour.
We would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to Jon Armstrong and co-driver Shane Byrne, winners of the 2025 Rali Ceredigion. Their commanding performance across 12 stages was nothing short of inspiring, securing their first-ever overall victory in both the FIA European Rally Championship and the British Rally Championship. Their grit, precision, and teamwork embody the very spirit of excellence that Cambrian Training strives to nurture in every learner.
But this partnership was about more than just motorsport. Cambrian Training’s involvement reflected its deep-rooted commitment to empowering young people, supporting Welsh enterprise, the Mid-Wales economy and promoting sustainability across sectors. Known for delivering bilingual apprenticeships in hospitality, food and drink manufacturing, leadership and management and sustainable resource management across Wales, Cambrian Training Group was proud to support this international event being held in the heart of Mid-Wales.
Rali Ceredigion itself has become a beacon of innovation in UK motorsport. As the first rally in Britain to offset all competing vehicle emissions, it’s earned accolades for environmental leadership and community engagement. This year, the rally has once again retained its FIA 2 Star Environmental Accreditation – remaining the only UK event to do so. It’s a powerful reflection of what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility.
From offsetting over 200 tCO₂e to pioneering fan park-and-ride schemes, hybrid official vehicles, and robust recycling efforts, Rali Ceredigion continues to set the standard for greener motorsport.
For Cambrian Training, the rally offered a unique platform to connect with future learners, showcase career pathways and celebrate apprenticeships and hands-on skills that drive industry forward. Whether it was through conversations in the fan zone, visibility on the promenade or simply being part of the buzz, Cambrian Training’s sponsorship helped bridge the gap between work-based learning apprenticeships and real-world opportunity.
The economic impact of Rali Ceredigion continues to grow, with last year’s event generating over £4.5 million for the local economy. This year’s figures are expected to rise even further, thanks to increased international participation and a renewed focus on inclusive experiences. From food festivals to autograph sessions, the rally proved that sport, culture, and community can thrive together – and Cambrian Training was right there in the mix.
As the engines quiet and the bunting comes down, what remains is a sense of pride and possibility. Rali Ceredigion 2025 wasn’t just a race- it was a rallying call for Welsh talent, teamwork and transformation. And with Cambrian Training helping lead the drive forward, the future looks fast, focused and full of promise.
