We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our team at The Ship Inn, Caerleon
The Ship Inn, New Road, Caerleon. NP18 1QF
Daily duties will include:
Clean and maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment including preparation, cooking and storage areas.
Complete food safety management system documentation.
Work with others to ensure dishes produced are of high quality, delivered on time and to the standard required.
Contribute to reviewing and refreshing menus and providing input on new menu suggestions and ideas.
Desirable personal qualities:
Weekend and evening availability is a must for this position. You will have a “can do” attitude along with a pride in your appearance and your timekeeping.
Willingness to learn and to have a basic knowledge of food hygiene.
The ability to work well under pressure and to work well as a team member.

Qualifications required:
No qualifications are required, but you must undertake your Level 2 Hygiene Certification if you do not currently possess one.
This will be based on your current qualifications and experience (if any) – we always pay above the National Minimum Wage – bonuses available after satisfactory probationary period.
No formal qualifications, but you need to be keen to learn and have a real interest in hospitality.
