WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are looking to recruit highly skilled Training Officers to join our growing Management/Business Administration learning delivery team. The ideal candidates will have middle/senior management experience and be able to teach and develop apprentices who themselves are employed within a range of employers across the Mid and South Wales regions. Self-motivation, enthusiasm, independence and teamwork are a must for the role, along with good interpersonal and communication skills. You will be working directly with employers and apprentices of all ages so the ability to motivate individuals and support them in achieving agreed goals must be one of your attributes, possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with a drive to succeed. Ultimately you will gain a huge amount of job satisfaction through teaching your apprentices and achieving their Business suite NVQ qualifications Levels 2 to 5. You can expect to deliver teaching and learning in the workplace day to day, passing on your knowledge and experience as well as undertaking assessments, assisting apprentices in preparing their portfolio of evidence and carrying out progression reviews. Similarly, you will support learners to improve their literacy, numeracy and digital skills, and promote the use of the Welsh Language wherever possible. It is a requirement to have access to your own transport and hold a current valid driving licence as travel is critical to the positions.YOU SHOULD:
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Business Management/Administration at a middle/senior management level
- Have or be familiar with Business Management/Administration qualifications at Level 4
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills
- Have a good level of IT skills and ability to learn new software
- Hold D32/D33, TAQA or A1 Assessor award or willing to work towards.
- Hold GCSE A* C / 9 – 4 in English and Maths or Level 2 equivalent (desirable, not essential)
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential
- Delivering effective teaching and learning to a caseload of learners in the workplace
- Development of learners' skills, knowledge and understanding
- Plan and carry out assessments to meet the needs of qualification, including in person and online
- Maintenance of learner records of assessment and progress
- Engaging with potential employers and learners to identify new opportunities
- Working with other departments within Cambrian Training to ensure the learner is able to complete their apprenticeship programme in a timely manner
- Salary range £25,000.00 - £27,000.00 per annum

Duties:
• Working on the manufacturing lines across the manufacturing operation producing high quality desserts
• Learning additional tasks and skills in all areas of the manufacturing operation enabling
• Assisting in the meeting of daily production plans ensuring the quality standards are met
• Operating and running machines in the bakery area to produce mixes, having to follow recipes and product specifications and ensure all the correct process are followed. Complying with the company quality policy and procedures specifically health & safety checks. Following the relevant critical control points in the process for example the sieving of flour etc. Understanding the importance of allergen control
• Operating and running the ovens, being able to carry out general maintenance (greasing, cleaning etc). Understanding and being able to adapt baking times and temperatures based on different products and seasonal differences on products
• Hand building finishing and decorating cakes and gateaux to the product specification.
Desirable Personal Qualities:
• We are looking for people who have the ability to work well as part of team as well as being able to work on their own initiative.
• Who are flexible and be able to work across a range of different production areas gaining a good level of skill throughout the manufacturing function.
• Good communication skills are important being able to communicate with all levels as well as having a good basic level of literacy and numeracy.
• We are looking for people who have ambition and want to learn all areas of manufacturing and progress within the business.
• People who already possess some of the skills we are looking for and want to be able to progress within a well-established manufacturing operation.
Qualification(s) Required:
GCSE level C in English and Maths.
Any previous bakery or manufacturing experience would be useful but not essential

At the Hare & Hounds, we serve good quality food and drinks in relaxed and informal surroundings. First and foremost, our pub is a thriving local watering hole that has been keeping locals’ thirst at bay for over 300 years. We still do exactly that, with great ales, interesting wines and homemade seasonal drinks.
Alongside the bar, we offer a small, daily changing, seasonal menu in our dining room. We use the very best produce that the Vale of Glamorgan has to offer. We have some of the most productive soil in the UK, which gives us meat, game and vegetables of the highest quality. The produce available to us from the best Vale producers, our own kitchen garden and our smallholding, dictate what is on the menu from day to day.
Everything is made from scratch in our kitchen, from our own sourdough bread and cultured butter, to fresh pasta. This is not pretentious fine dining; its just about good food, whether you’ve been for a long walk with your dog or have got something to celebrate. It is a type of regional Welsh cooking.
We are the proud holder of a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide, and we’re featured in The Good Food Guide, the Good Pub Guide and the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide.
