Excitement is building across Mid Wales as the days count-down to the world-famous Man v Horse Race returning for the 45th time to Llanwrtyd Wells on Saturday, 13 June.
We are especially proud that two members of our Cambrian Training team, Donna Heath and Alex Hogg, will be taking part to see if they can beat the horse riders and their horses to the finish line.
The iconic Man v Horse Race sees runners and horse riders go head-to-head in a race across demanding Mid-Wales countryside and terrain in a contest that has captured international attention.  A contest designed to test competitors’ determination and endurance and build community spirit — values that strongly reflect our own at Cambrian Training.
Donna, an experienced runner who has competed in races from 10km to marathons and ultra-marathons across Wales, has long admired the race and is excited to be taking part for the first time. Alex enjoys running for physical and mental wellbeing and has competed in the Get Jerky Devil’s Staircase Race, that’s also held in Llanwrtyd Wells. He’s hoping this will give him the home advantage, as he races against 75 horses and 760 individual runners.
Their participation perfectly represents the drive, ambition and resilience we encourage in all our staff and apprentices at Cambrian Training.
Race-goers will find us in the finish field on the day, as well as at our sister company, Trailhead Fine Foods, where visitors can buy our hand-produced Get Jerky, made with PGI Welsh beef and packed with protein to power you through the day.
As an organisation committed to developing Welsh people, supporting Welsh businesses and investing in Welsh communities, we are delighted to be the lead sponsors of the Man v Horse Race.
We would like to wish every runner, rider, marshal and the organisers the very best for race day.
We look forward to seeing you there. Be sure to come and say hello.
